Humboldt County Herpetological Society
Outreach
The HCHS Outreach program consists of a variety of community-based activities used to promote herp education
and conservation.  Such events include presentations at the HSU Natural History Museum in Arcata as well as
lectures offered at our local public schools.  Some of us have experience with private events such as birthday
parties as well, however such affairs may ask a donation.  HumboldtHerps is currently seeking volunteers to
assist the California Reptorium in setting up a new educational program with the Sequoia Park Zoo.  Additionally,
the society is also interested in connecting with other local non-profit conservation groups for field walks and
opportunities to help with local habitat restoration.  This is only the beginning...

The HCHS is currently still in its neonate stage, however recent publicity of our endeavors is helping us gain
momentum.  We are always searching for new participants to help us promote herp welfare.  Some of our
Outreach volunteers are lecturers, while others help with set-up, reptile "wrangling", and promotional activities.
We hope that our some of our future activities may actually earn resume material for those volunteers who are
majoring in the life sciences.

We are still working on a platform from which to spring forth all of our intentions and are trying to build a larger
volunteer base.  We hope to fill this page in the near future with regularly planned events.

For now, we hope you will stay tuned for what's within reach!  Details on upcoming events may found
